shortCut: Feeding Magazine
Magazine Overview
• Magazine Concept
The magazine is made for wood pieces with similar widths. After piling them into the rack, a pusher located underneath the table will drag each piece, one after the other, onto the multi rip chain. It is recommended to have all pieces double side planed on top and bottom in order to avoid any stuck pieces in the magazine.
Compatible with shortCut & X Blade
The automatic feeding magazine allows you to quickly load your wood pieces on shortCut or X Blade multiple rip saws.
• Pusher
The pusher is coming from below the magazine table and is triggered by a pneumatic cylinder. It is possible to change the type of pusher for loading various dimensions with limits in terms of length and width set at 1200mm and 300mm respectively.
• Loading Modes
It exists two different modes to push your lumber with the feeding magazine into the multi rip. The first one is for one loop only, for making just one push. The second one is for continuous feeding with repeated loops.
• Magazine Clamps
At the front of the magazine, there are two clamps to attach the magazine onto the mounting frame of the multi rip guiding fence. After correctly positioning the magazine, tighten the clamp on each side by turning the corresponding handles.
• Magazine Side Walls
In order to keep the stock in the same pile, there are two side walls, ensuring that each wood piece stays align in the stack. The magazine table comes with pre-drilled holes that allow to adjust the positions of each side wall, depending on the width of your wood pieces.
The short wall comes along the machine fence and the long wall needs to be set at its opposite.
• Pressure Plates
To keep the wood pieces together while one is loaded by the pusher, one pressure plate is mounted on the machine fence with 3x bolts and nuts.
Another one is attached to the first plate with 2x bolts and nuts and can be adjusted to set the allowed thickness.
This is essential to control the feeding with only one wood piece at a time. It also helps to keep the wood in contact with the infeed table and the chain conveyor of the multi rip afterwards.
• Side Gear Wheel
In combination with the short stock guiding fence, this wheel guarantees a perfect straightness when feeding short-length wood pieces. It is also adjustable in width.
• Pneumatic Control
The pusher is triggered by a pneumatic cylinder located below the table.
The connection with pneumatic pump is set behind the electrical cabinet.
• Magazine Table Height
The feeding magazine height must be perfectly leveled and adjusted with the height of the table of the multi rip saw to provide a smooth loading. Each foot comes with bolts and nuts to correctly perform this step.
